Why Affirmations Work

8 Sep

The reason why affirmations work is because affirmations are the ‘code’, the ‘language’, the natural way your mind does business. Self-talk – the traffic of your brain – starts out as an affirmation from the outside. These affirmations are either created by you or given to you by others. They are the statements that you repeat to yourself on a daily basis.

When new affirmations are introduced into the ‘mix’ they will either be rejected or accepted depending on whether or not they align with what’s already in your mind. The word to describe this is ‘congruence’. Congruence simply means to agree or to correspond. If something you hear or read fits with your world view it will be quickly absorbed into your inner world. The opposite is also true if something does not fit with your ‘map’ of how things are, it will be quickly rejected.

Setting Examples For A Daughter To Follow

31 Aug

I can’t speak for everyone else but these are the things that I instill in my daughter on a regular basis. I feel if I set the best examples she’ll follow and look for the same qualities in people that she will have in her circle.

1. self respect

2. Independence

3. Respect others

4. I give her flowers and we have Daddy/ Daughter dates

5. I’m open and honest with her , so that when those “hard” questions come up ,it  will not be hard to talk to me about them.

6. I listen to her opinions

7. I allow self express…to a point of course

8. I show her love and affection

9. I tell her ”I love you” every day!

10. I tell her, look into peoples eyes when talking to them.

11. I teach her to be honest

Preach

30 Aug

My names Preach and I’m going to tell you the truth. I am a comedian. Been one all my life. I just didn’t know it until 2007. Life is funny like that. No matter how hard you run away from what you are it will follow you no matter what. I didn’t start to perform until 3 years ago. I did the whole “safe” path thing. Got my bachelors at North Carolina A&T. Got my MBA at University of Phoenix. The whole time I felt the gnaw of my “real” self the whole time in the pit of my soul.

Christina Cindrich – Pushy Dreamers DO’s & Don’ts

26 Aug

PushyDreamer

Christina Cindrich is a Producer, Host, Actress, News Anchor, and Sports Reporter. She has appeared in Spiderman 3, C.S.I., Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal, Las Vegas, Frasier, According to Jim, and many more hit shows. She produced and hosted an internet sports webisode, was a News Anchor & Sports Reporter at Mountain Television Network in Boone, North Carolina, and is currently a Producer/Host for WealthTV in San Diego, CA.

Top 5 DO’s…

1. In order to stay completely focused I have to make some serious SACRIFICES. I moved to a new city for my job where I don’t know a lot of people… I get lonely sometimes, but this is all a part of my plan to succeed. If I lived near all my friends, I’d be distracted! I also have a 3.5 lb Yorkie that for 6 years had never left my side, but because my job requires me to travel so much, she spends a lot of time in Pittsburgh, PA with my parents.

2. I have no responsibilities besides my job. Which also means NO BOYFRIEND! Being in a relationship takes work and I don’t have time at this point in my life to commit my time & attention to anyone. That might sound selfish, but there came a point in my life where I just needed to focus on me. I’m single, independent, and rely on myself. That in itself is empowering and keeps me driven.

3. I STAY POSITIVE. My job requires 120% from me and at times I can go into complete overload. I look at stress as a positive force in my life that gives me physical and mental strength to keep pushing toward my goals. That makes the feeling of accomplishment much greater once I’m able to relax.

4. I believe that in order to follow your dreams you have to really know what it is that you want! I’ve always had a PASSION for entertaining. As Confucius said, “Find a job you enjoy, and you’ll never work a day in your life”. There is a lot of truth to that! Even dream jobs can be hard work, but it’s much easier when you’re doing something you love!

5. At a very young age, I was taking dancing, singing and acting classes. In high school, I left school early to go to my theater classes downtown and didn’t get home until 10pm at night. It’s so important in any field to get the appropriate TRAINING necessary to succeed. I’ve paid my dues (and still am) to get to where I ultimately want to be!

Top 5 DON’Ts-

1. As a TV Host and Actress, I speak my feelings, ideas, and thoughts. My personality and true self is revealed to strangers. This can make me pretty vulnerable to harsh CRITICISM AND HATERS. It’s really important to not take anything to heart. Obviously, that’s easier said than done but I try to take criticism constructively and make haters my motivators! I’m grindin’ too hard now to let the “noise” at the bottom distract me! (On that note, I never want to be famous…I just want to be successful!)

2. DON’T PROCRASTINATE. I used to procrastinate getting a job application out, going to the gym, reading a script, etc. I think I also just had a lot of distractions around me. Nowadays though, everything I do is productive. (for the most part!) There isn’t time to wait around!

3. I DEVOTE 90% TO MY WORK , 10% TO MY PERONAL LIFE. I lived in LA for 9 years before moving to North Carolina and San Diego. LA is my playground and it was distracting for me. I got a job offer a couple months ago back in LA but I had to turn it down. If I want to remain completely focused, I need to be separated away from my comfort zone. It’s a sacrifice, but it’s necessary for now. When I need to recharge my battery or get some hugs, I go to LA for the weekend then get back focused Sunday night for the week.

4. I don’t have anyone NEGATIVE in my life. Gossip, debates, venting, etc. is enough to make anyone lose concentration and I have no interest (or energy) for any of that! I navigate around the melodrama and just focus on the bigger picture! I made the choice to not entertain people or circumstances that aren’t in harmony with what I want to achieve!

5. I’m my own WORST CRITIC. I’m very detail-oriented and a perfectionist so when I do something wrong I just try again and keep pushing. I’ve been passed up on a lot of jobs and I’ve made my share of mistakes but I only use them to learn from. I won’t let myself get discouraged from chasing my dreams!!!

The Power of Positive Affirmations

25 Aug

HEADING_TITLE
To a large extent, your happiness and your success in life is determined by the thoughts you hold in your subconscious mind. Positive affirmations are powerful statements that are used to build a positive internal dialog. By consistently repeating positive affirmations to yourself, you create positive subconscious thoughts. These new, positive, productive thoughts will replay automatically throughout your life. Each time they replay, they’ll reinforce the new positive inner-image you have of yourself and your life in general. By replacing old, negative thinking with new, positive subconscious thoughts you’ll be able to access the endless resources of positive energy you have within yourself. And you’ll be able to create a new, positive reality for yourself.

When you use positive affirmations, let yourself really feel them. Fully experience each one. Enjoy them. Assume each affirmation to be true in your physical reality. Feel the positive emotions that are appropriate for this positive reality. This will help you make positive changes more quickly and automatically.
