http://twitter.com/DreamsWorkInc http://wemakedreamswork.org/ What was the inspiration behind Dreams Work Inc.? I co-founded Dreams Work Inc with 3 other people Anwan “Big G” Glover, Nia Barge, and A’Leighsha Butler. personally I wanted to create a program that showed youth how to dream effectively. My background is in Violence Prevention and I came across so many youth who really didn’t understand that they had a right to dream of a better life and that thier dreams could come true. We decided to use the arts for two reasons one because we knew that using the arts would be a good way to attract youth to our program, and secondly because the same disipline it takes to become a good artist is the same tools it takes to overcome hurdles and achieve dreams. Our program focuses on 3 major components of youth development 1. resiliance 2. focus 3. determination. In short we educate...
www.africanmoringa.com Where did the inspiration come from? For me, it’s seeing something missing. It’s seeing African not understood by Americans, and Americans not being understood by Africans and really wanting to link them up. Because I belong in both and I love both worlds. I really wanted to do something that can bring both of them together. There are so many ways to bring people together, what encouraged you to create a product? I have a background in science that I went to school for and being a model, I am always looking for solutions to look and feel good. I wanted to do something that I believed in, I also wanted to help people from home and the best way to help them was to create a brand that could give them jobs. Diffidently, trade, not aid and I felt like this was something I knew I could...
Pushing My Own Dream… http://18monthstothealtar.blogspot.com/ @MichaelRenee In mid-January a friend and I hosted a vision board party. I had about 14 women over one night for drinks, snacks, dessert and hopefully some dream manifestation. We had a great time. Before starting my board, I knew there would be images included for a greater spiritual life, more travel, better organization and time management, graduation followed by work I’m passionate about, taking steps toward financial security and relationships and family. I was surprised to see a desire to marry in 18 months emerge. I knew I wanted to get married, but making it a part of my vision board meant that I would have to take action. Not only would I have to take action, but I would have to make myself vulnerable by speaking my desire out loud – scary. Anyway, I decided among other things to start a blog. Initially, it was...

www.wearbonbonvie.com www.facebook.com/bonbonvie www.twitter.com/sharibonbonvie There are a lot of t shirts on the market, what inspired you to create your own line? I was inspired to create my own line because I felt it was time to do something for myself. I have worked in advertising since I graduated from college in 2006 and have done a lot of freelance work. I’d spent a lot of time doing branding for others and helping them build their businesses. I wanted to finally do what I was doing for others for myself. The other reason is, I love graphic tees! I own a ton of them and I felt I had a lot of designs in my head that I hadn’t seen anywhere, so I figured I should put them out there and share them with the world. What doors of opportunities did you create for yourself by following through? This business has...

Take us back to when you discovered your dream, what inspired and motivated you to start Mattieologie? I was in retail management for 2 years and during that time I had started Mattieologie as a hobby. I would post maybe once or twice a week. It hadn’t yet dawned on me that this was eventually going to be my full time gig. When I originally started blogging, I had a celebrity blog for about 6 months, but I didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t really see anyone blogging about fashion or their life really, so I took it upon myself to do that. I realized if you do what everyone else is doing, you’ll blend in with the crowd. I didn’t want to do that. I made up a word – Mattieologie – that had everything to...
