We may not share the same dream, but there is always something in the journey that can become useful in helping another fulfill theirs. I reached out to Creator, Amanda Nieves, a licensed esthetician who has a passion for healthy skin and healthy living. As I crossed her site, Illuma Minerals, I immediately became curious with questions as I read about her passions and dreams of blending what she loves and what she does together.
1. With so many make up companies already in existence, what personal fears did you have to overcome in order to make this work?
I have fears of rejection of course at times but I always tryto stay positive and just believed in myself. I know there is a ton of competiton but I believe in the makeup and myself. I wouldn’t be selling it to women if I didn’t love it and that gives me cofidence others will too
2. Can you share with me something about how you balance or manage your time efficiently to achieve your goals?
Well, I literally began working for myself at the same time I gave birth to my daughter. It was extremely stressfull at first and I was still figuring out how to manage my time. I recently found balence between playtime with her, my time with my husband and focusing on my makeup line. I found that writing down a schedule for myself week to week helps because I have so many roles right now in ILLUMA, I try to write down goals I want to accomplish for the upcoming month so I can plan ahead. I also design my own labels and marketing material so I am constantly working on some marketing material, usually when my daughter goes to bed. There isn’t a day that goes by that I am not doing something for ILLUMA, whether its Pinning on Pinterest, Tweeting, doing a lesson or creating new palettes, I always make time for my business.
Normally when we think of practice, we immediately think of mastering a skill in some form of art or athletic ability. Rarely do we make it a goal to master our inner strength the way we would to set a goal to lose weight or save money. With all great things, 1st comes practice. Not saying it will be easy, but with all things, practice does have the ability to make it better.
